Voetbalzone is a leading Dutch football news platform, delivering live updates, match analysis, and in-depth coverage to fans nationwide.
I led the UI redesign, creating a modern, visually cohesive interface, while supporting the UX team in optimizing user flows and content structure. The redesign focused on improving readability, enhancing navigation, and providing a more engaging experience across devices.
Home Page
The redesigned homepage was structured to provide a clear and engaging overview of the latest football news, live scores, and featured content.
I organized the layout into distinct sections, including top headlines, trending stories, video highlights, and in-depth articles, each with a clear hierarchy to guide the user’s attention.
Additional modules for live match updates and featured interviews help keep fans informed and engaged, while the overall design ensures a clean, scannable experience across devices.
Article Page
The article pages were redesigned to enhance readability and keep users engaged with rich editorial content.
One key challenge was accommodating varying types of content—text, images, video highlights, and stats—without overwhelming the user. I addressed this by creating a modular layout that adapts to different content types while maintaining visual consistency, improved typography, and clear spacing.
This approach ensures that every article is easy to read, visually appealing, and provides quick access to related stories and multimedia elements.
Competition Pages
The competition gives users a clear overview of leagues, tournaments, and their associated data. To handle the complexity of multiple tabs, I structured the layout to separate key sections such as standings, top scorers, recent results, and upcoming fixtures, making it easy for users to navigate between them.
This tab-based system ensures that all relevant information is accessible at a glance while keeping the interface clean and organized across devices.
Match Pages
Score Pages
The score pages were redesigned to give users immediate, at-a-glance information on all ongoing and completed matches. Distinct color accents were used to differentiate live games from finished ones, helping users quickly identify match status.
We created flexible space for additional details such as penalty shootouts, previous match results, and a button linking to full match coverage on broadcasting platforms. The design also integrates a calendar, allowing users to navigate quickly to scores from any specific day. One of the main challenges was balancing dense match data with readability, which was addressed through a modular layout and clear visual hierarchy, ensuring both real-time updates and historical results are easy to scan.
